Last summer I was asked to be the photographer at my friends wedding. At first I jumped at the chance but then I gave it some serious thought and realised I probably wasn’t cut out for the job. I love taking photo’s but a landscape that sits still is very different from an animated face, especially on such an important day. And so I made clear of my doubt and opted out.
But then the wedding got closer.. and closer and once again the proposition came my way. This time the only thing I could think of was that I should ‘try everything once’ in life and as long as they weren’t expecting anything professional then, why not?!
So let me cut to the chase; I attended the wedding as ‘photographer’ but was very glad to find out that I was not alone in this role (thanks Alessandro!), met some fantastic people, ate great food, danced all night and got to explore a beautiful Italian village. Oh and the pictures actually turned out pretty good! But I will let you judge that for yourself. Below is a small collection I consider to capture the essence of the day… Enjoy!
